EXPERIENCE – Melissa began working in 1988 at Boothferry Borough Council, following which she gained her MA in Town & Regional Planning.   She rose to the position of Senior Planning Officer before moving on to North Lincolnshire Council in 1996 and then to Selby District Council in 2001.

Having progressed to Team Leader status, dealing with major planning applications for all types of development proposals and being responsible for daily managerial matters, Melissa left local government to work in the private sector in 2006.

She was responsible for setting up and establishing a subsidiary Planning Consultancy to an established local building company.    Having been successful in this endeavour Melissa joined The Land and Development Practice in August 2008.

Melissa has a comprehensive knowledge of the Planning system both from Local Authority and private practice perspectives
